ABOUT US

We are small scale breeders located in Southwestern New Jersey. We only breed one or two litters per year. We have been in Bernese Mountain Dogs since 1991 and Newfoundlands since 2002. We obtain all health certificates necessary for both breeds including hip and elbow ratings through OFA and heart certifications for our Newfoundlands. We only sell pet quality puppies on limited AKC registration and a strict spay/neuter contract. Show puppies are occasionally available to qualified homes. We do not breed for quantity but for quality.

Please be advised that both Bernese Mountain Dogs and Newfoundlands are large, heavy coated breeds. They do not tolerate the heat well and shed heavily. In addition, as large breed dogs, the costs for maintaining both breeds is more than that of a smaller breed of dog. They are family dogs and wish to be at your side at all times (preferably on the couch with you). Both suffer from many health issues including hip and elbow dysplasia, heart conditions and cancer. The longevity on both breeds is not as long as we would like. Only 8 to 10 years.

We strongly urge you to research both breeds extensively prior to purchasing either breed. (See our links page for more information on both breeds) Do not purchase any dog without first exploring all options. You may find that another breed may be better suited to your lifestyle. With any breed of dog or cat DO NOT PURCHASE ONE FROM A PET SHOP. You are opening yourself up to heartbreak in the long run. Only purchase a pure bred animal from a reputable breeder.

If, after your research, you are still interested in either breed, you can look forward to a wonderful, beautiful and exceptional pet that will provide you with years of love and enjoyment.
